The Power of Nutrition and Functional Medicine for Supporting HSPs with Anxiety and Depression

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of being interviewed and featured on Julie Bjelland’s podcast, where I got to introduce my work and why I’m so passionate about what I do with her community. Julie is a psychotherapist that specialises in supporting Highly Sensitive People. These are people who have a sensory processing sensitivity trait that 20% of the population have, and I have come to learn that I also have. Learning about her work and her community has been truly eye-opening for me, as I have come to realise how having this trait has deeply impacted my life.

Julie’s empowering community teaches HSPs that having this trait is not a weakness, but is actually a superpower that needs to be learnt to manage and harness. The content on her website, as well as her quiz (which you can find here), are truly empowering. If you have long suffered with symptoms of anxiety and depression, you may well be a HSP. This means you have a sensitive nervous system and pick up on things that many others perhaps wouldn’t. With the right tools, you can learn how to turn this into a superpower.

If you’re interested in listening to me do a brief intro into some of the aspects and pillars of nutrition in relation to mental health, you can access the podcast here:
